Join the Division of Disease Control as a Fieldwork Intern within the Bureau of Public Health Clinics (BPHC), where our mission is to enhance the health of New Yorkers by ensuring access to vital health resources. As a part-time College Aide (1st Year Graduate), working 21 hours per week, your contributions will be crucial in promoting informed health choices and delivering essential services such as tuberculosis treatment, immunizations, and sexual health resources to all individuals, irrespective of their financial or immigration status.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Exploring innovative outreach strategies to connect with CUNY students.
- Maintaining an organized calendar for outreach activities.
- Logging outreach actions in the Public Health Partners Connect (PHPC) database within two business days.
- Conducting quality assurance checks on PHPC data.
- Ensuring the accuracy of services, locations, and hours on student-focused listservs.
- Distributing promotional materials during on-campus events.
- Facilitating access to safer sex supplies across campuses.
- Participating in community meetings to bolster coalition efforts.
- Evaluating engagement strategies through a racial equity lens.
- Creating a comprehensive transition document at the internship's conclusion, detailing project insights and future steps.
- Summarizing contributions to the Community Engagement Unit and transitioning partnerships effectively.
