As a Finishing Operator, you will play a crucial role in our Finishing operations, ensuring that all processes align with customer specifications. Your responsibilities will include packaging slit rolls, operating manual packaging lines, cutting cores, and banding, among other tasks. A solid understanding of Avery Dennison’s standard packaging practices and Exact program packing requirements is essential. This position also involves the operation of slitting, rewinding, and/or automated packaging equipment as needed. You will be working B Shift from 4PM to 12AM, Monday through Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sort, label, and package finished goods for shipment according to customer specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct visual inspections of finished products to ensure quality.
- Maintain a steady supply of packaging materials in the work area.
- Prepare cores for machine operators.
- Effectively communicate and coordinate with shift and department personnel for seamless operations.
- Track multiple packing orders simultaneously.
- Order and verify materials according to production needs.
- Run orders based on product specifications and established practices.
- Perform routine machine setup and changeover.
- Accurately record operational data, including downtime causes and performance metrics.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Engage in 5S duties and audits.
- Assist with equipment maintenance as directed.
- Participate in teamwork and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Complete any additional duties assigned by the supervisor.
