As a key member of the finance leadership team, you will collaborate with department leaders across the organization to enhance cost efficiency, drive productivity, and optimize investment effectiveness. This role uniquely combines robust technical finance skills with a business partnering approach, enabling you to facilitate superior decision-making through detailed analysis and valuable commercial insights.
You will significantly contribute to the development of a forward-looking FP&A framework that utilizes data analytics, automation, and AI, modernizing our forecasting, reporting, and analysis processes and allowing focus on strategic initiatives.
Your insights will empower leaders to make informed decisions, as you become a trusted advisor who challenges conventional thinking, fosters delivery, and influences business performance.
We currently employ over 400 client-facing consultants and 150 Head Office staff at Newton. We are seeking a talented individual for a permanent position at our Head Office in Kingston Bagpuize, Oxfordshire, within our Finance and Commercial Function.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Partnering & Insight
- Collaborate with leaders in Head Office and Support Functions (e.g., IT, HR, Fleet, Property, Finance) to analyze cost drivers, productivity, and performance metrics.
- Deliver actionable insights to aid prioritization and decision-making.
- Foster trusted relationships that promote constructive dialogue and influence.
Performance Management
- Examine overhead expenditures and productivity trends, pinpointing risks and opportunities.
- Develop and maintain KPI frameworks and dashboards for support functions.
- Enhance transparency regarding support function costs, productivity, and the value delivered to the business.
Planning, Forecasting & Modelling
- Oversee forecasting and budgeting processes for Head Office and support functions.
- Create capacity and cost models to facilitate growth and scalability.
- Formulate robust business cases for investment in personnel, technology, and infrastructure, including ROI and payback analysis.
Continuous Improvement, Data & AI
- Identify and implement enhancements to FP&A processes, reporting, and workflows.
- Drive automation initiatives to minimize manual tasks and improve accuracy, consistency, and speed.
- Advocate for the use of AI and advanced analytics to refine forecasting, scenario modeling, anomaly detection, and insight generation.
Reporting & Governance
- Produce high-quality management reports and ensure adherence to governance standards.
