KordaMentha is looking for a dynamic and experienced Financial Crime Manager to join our rapidly growing New Zealand practice. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in identifying, managing, and mitigating financial crime risks across various sectors, while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and enhancing the effectiveness of our clients’ Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF) programs. This role combines both technical and operational expertise, focusing on the design and operational effectiveness of financial crime strategies.
As a Financial Crime Manager, you will have the unique opportunity to engage directly with senior leadership, benefiting from valuable mentorship while contributing to the development and success of the New Zealand team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with clients and internal teams to create and implement customized financial crime strategies across diverse industries.
- Guide and mentor junior team members, fostering an environment of knowledge sharing and professional growth.
- Conduct thorough analysis of non-financial information to identify potential issues and provide actionable recommendations to clients.
- Support clients in assessing their compliance needs and safeguarding their organizations against financial crime risks.
- Lead the proposal development process and manage client engagements, including administrative oversight and deliverable management.
- Oversee project teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality outputs that align with client objectives and regulatory standards.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for clients, legal teams, boards, and regulatory authorities.
- Conduct enterprise-wide financial crime risk assessments and independent reviews of AML/CTF programs.
- Design, implement, and test financial crime controls.
- Deliver tailored financial crime training sessions for clients.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing strategic advice and managing expectations.
