About the Role:
pavago is actively looking for a dedicated Financial Planning Analyst to enhance our financial strategy through detailed budgeting and forecasting. In this role, you will create complex financial models, oversee planning cycles, and deliver insights that drive our strategic initiatives. Your analytical skills and proficiency with modeling tools will be essential as you translate financial data into actionable strategies. Collaborating closely with finance leaders and departmental heads, you will ensure that our budgets and forecasts are not only accurate but also aligned with the company’s objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Budget Development:
- Lead the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets.
- Aggregate inputs from various departments and business units.
- Ensure alignment of budgets with corporate goals and resource availability.
Forecasting:
- Maintain ongoing forecasts for revenue, expenses, and cash flow.
- Regularly update models with actual performance and refine assumptions.
- Develop scenario and sensitivity analyses to evaluate potential outcomes.
Variance Analysis:
- Analyze actual results against budgets and forecasts.
- Create detailed reports explaining variances with actionable recommendations.
Financial Modeling:
- Develop dynamic Excel or Google Sheets models (DCF, ROI, IRR, break-even).
- Utilize advanced formulas, macros, or BI tools to enhance precision.
Reporting:
- Produce management reports with dashboards and visual representations.
- Deliver insights to executives, emphasizing risks and opportunities.
Collaboration:
- Work alongside department heads to synchronize forecasts with operational strategies.
- Engage with FP&A teams to refine planning assumptions.
Process Improvement:
- Identify inefficiencies in forecasting workflows.
- Implement new FP&A software or enhance data integration (e.g., Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, Workday).
Ideal Candidate:
- Exceptional analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in building models from the ground up and articulating them clearly.
- Proactively identifies trends, risks, and opportunities.
- A skilled communicator who can influence stakeholders with data-driven narratives.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in financial planning/analysis, budgeting, or forecasting.
- Expertise in Excel/Google Sheets (nested formulas, pivot tables, sensitivity modeling).
- Proven experience in preparing variance analyses for senior management.
