We are seeking a dedicated Food Quality Control & Safety Specialist to enhance our food safety programs across our venues. This role involves direct support and collaboration to develop, implement, and maintain systems that ensure Food Safety and Quality Assurance, while guaranteeing compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site food safety assessments and collaborate with team members to enhance food safety practices.
- Develop and implement new food safety training materials in partnership with the training department for team members.
- Deliver comprehensive food safety training for both new hires and promoted employees.
- Monitor health department inspection data to align with company standards and regulatory requirements, promptly addressing critical issues with the food safety team and operations.
- Foster strong relationships with key regulatory bodies.
- Assist the Sourcing team in maintaining accurate documentation from vendors.
- Organize and maintain departmental records effectively.
- Provide detailed reporting on key performance metrics.
- Collaborate with the Training Department to manage the ServSafe certification process.
- Support the Food Safety Team on various internal projects.
- Research basic nutritional information as required.
- Assist in the development and monitoring of the Allergen Program.
- Disseminate up-to-date allergen information, menu changes, and new product introductions to food venues.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement concerning food safety initiatives.
- Work with stakeholders to identify and resolve any critical business issues.
- Complete assigned projects to achieve departmental objectives.
- Participate in morning Quality Assurance checks of incoming products.
- Conduct on-site inspections for UHU as necessary.
- Develop procedures and policies related to food safety, sanitation, allergens, and HAACP programs.
- Provide training support in both food and classroom settings for management and hourly staff.
- Perform regular scheduled and unannounced audits and inspections to ensure compliance with standards.
- Conduct regulatory compliance and incident investigations, tracking trends as needed.
- Analyze data and maintain records related to venue audits, guest feedback, and investigations regarding food safety and product quality.
- Execute other duties as assigned.
