Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve food items while adhering to proper portion sizes.
- Ensure the kitchen and dining areas are clean and organized, in line with health and safety regulations.
- Assist customers with their orders, providing insightful information about menu offerings and accommodating dietary needs.
- Safely operate kitchen equipment including dishwashers, coffee machines, and toasters.
- Monitor food inventory levels and communicate shortages to management.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient service during peak hours.
- Welcome customers warmly and foster a friendly atmosphere.
- Serve food and beverages promptly while paying attention to detail.
- Accurately process orders using the point-of-sale system.
- Handle cash and credit card transactions, following established cash handling procedures.
- Set up dining areas, including tables and chairs, before service begins.
- Regularly clean and sanitize tables, counters, and service areas.
- Maintain café cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, and disposing of waste.
- Restock condiments, napkins, and utensils as required.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff for timely and accurate food delivery.
- Comply with COSHH regulations and employ appropriate safety measures when handling chemicals.
- Follow dress code policies and maintain personal hygiene standards.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations consistently.
Skills
- GCSE education or higher.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, exhibiting a positive attitude.
- Basic mathematics skills for cash handling and order processing.
