Join Our Team as a Forward Deployed Engineer!
At ModernFi, we are seeking a dynamic Forward Deployed Engineer to be an integral part of our team, facilitating the onboarding of financial institutions to our innovative platform. As a key member of the Engineering team, you will collaborate across various functions to ensure that every client experiences a seamless and enjoyable technical onboarding process. Your responsibilities will include setting up infrastructure, configuring integrations, engaging with partners, and developing tools that enhance the onboarding experience for all stakeholders.
This role is perfect for individuals with a robust technical background who thrive in client-facing environments. You will work closely with banks and credit unions, bridging the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders, and spearheading significant projects that drive revenue and client success. Furthermore, you will play a crucial role in shaping how ModernFi scales its onboarding operations as we expand.

Your Responsibilities
Lead the technical onboarding of new institutions to the ModernFi platform, overseeing account setup, configuration, testing, and go-live phases.
Manage client infrastructure setup, including provisioning SFTP servers and keypairs utilizing Pulumi.
Collaborate with banking IT teams to configure SSO in Auth0 based on their identity providers.
Coordinate onboarding processes for third-party digital banking integrations like Q2, acting as a liaison among ModernFi, clients, and partners.
Take ownership of our public API documentation, simplifying client integration and highlighting our engineering-first mentality.
Develop tools, dashboards, or internal features (using Python, Retool, etc.) that enhance your workflows and scalability.
Optimize our self-service onboarding tool by collaborating with our Customer Success team to gather client feedback and suggest product improvements or implement immediate fixes.
Effectively communicate and translate information between technical and non-technical audiences with empathy and clarity.
About You
You possess a solid engineering background, with a degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
You are comfortable working with code and infrastructure; while you may not write production services daily, you can set up an SFTP server, modify a Python script, or execute a SQL query.
You have excellent communication skills, enabling you to effectively interact with diverse audiences.
