About the job
We invite you to submit your CV in English, highlighting your proficiency in the English language.
Mindrift connects talented specialists with exciting, project-based AI opportunities at leading technology companies, focusing on the evaluation, testing, and enhancement of AI systems. Please note that this is a project-based position, not a permanent role.
Role Overview
As a contributor, you will engage in diverse projects that may include:
- Crafting original computational physics challenges that reflect authentic research processes;
- Developing problems that necessitate Python programming for solutions (utilizing libraries such as Numpy, SciPy, Sympy);
- Ensuring that the challenges are computationally demanding, requiring substantial time to solve (days to weeks);
- Creating problems that involve complex reasoning in fields such as mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics;
- Drawing inspiration from real-world research challenges or practical applications within the field of physics;
- Verifying solutions through Python using established physics simulation libraries;
- Clearly documenting problem statements and providing verified answers.
Ideal Candidate Profile
This role is suitable for individuals with a physics background, comfortable with Python, and interested in part-time, non-permanent engagements. The ideal candidates will possess:
- A degree in Physics (Theoretical, Experimental, or Computational) or a closely related field;
- Proficiency in Python for numerical validations; familiarity with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, or similar programming languages will be considered equivalent;
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience, whether in applied physics, research, or teaching;
- Experience with numerical simulation techniques;
- The ability to design problems that simulate real physics research workflows;
- Creative problem-solving skills across various physics domains;
- A solid understanding of physics modeling and approximation methods;
- Strong written English skills (C1 and above).
Application Process
To apply, follow these steps: Submit your application → Pass qualifications → Join a project → Complete assigned tasks → Receive compensation.
Project Commitment
During active phases of the project, contributors can expect to dedicate approximately 10–20 hours per week, depending on project requirements. Please note that this is an estimate and not a guaranteed workload.
Compensation Structure
Contributors can earn up to $14 per hour, based on their expertise and contribution pace. Compensation may differ across projects, influenced by scope, complexity, and required skills. Please be aware that other projects on the platform might offer varying compensation levels based on their specific needs.
