About the job
Frontend Engineer
Catena · Remote (US) · Full-Time
Overview
At Catena, we streamline real-time telematics and execution data from an extensive network of trucks and trailers across 130+ providers into a unified API. Our data is intricate, our clientele is technical, and the interfaces we design must render both elements accessible. We are in search of a skilled Frontend Engineer to join our team and help us achieve this goal.
This role is hands-on, where you will collaborate closely with our founding team and product designer to deliver high-quality product interfaces, contribute to our component library, and establish a scalable frontend foundation as we grow.
Your Responsibilities
Develop & Launch Product Interfaces — You will create data dashboards, operational workflows, onboarding processes, and developer-facing tools that our customers rely on daily. This work involves handling large amounts of data and requires technical expertise, focusing on transforming complex, real-time logistics data into interfaces that are efficient, clear, and dependable.
Manage the Website & CMS — You will be responsible for building and maintaining Catena's marketing site and content management system using Next.js and Sanity CMS. This entails overseeing the entire stack from component architecture to content modeling, ensuring that the site remains fast, maintainable, and easy for non-engineers to update.
Contribute to Design Systems — You will assist in developing and maintaining the component library and design patterns that ensure our product remains consistent as it evolves. While end-to-end ownership of the design system isn't required, you should care about the craft and strive to leave the code cleaner than you found it.
Enhance Performance — Our product processes high-volume, real-time data. You will ensure our interfaces manage this gracefully, achieving quick load times, efficient state management, and responsive design that withstands pressure.
Collaborate Across Teams — You will interact directly with engineering, product, and design teams to transition features from concept to production. As part of a small team of 15, this means being involved early, asking insightful questions, and taking complete ownership of your work until it is shipped.
