As a vital member of our service area, the Patient Service Representative is responsible for managing the check-in and check-out processes for patients attending appointments. This position is pivotal in delivering outstanding customer service to patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients and guests upon arrival, confirm their identity, and provide essential information regarding their visit.
- Execute check-in and check-out procedures as instructed.
- Verify and update patient identification and demographic/insurance details.
- Facilitate patient registration as necessary.
- Obtain patient consents and authorizations.
- Collect co-payments, overdue balances, and other point-of-service payments.
- Record payments, process billing information, and manage the end-of-day cash drawer reconciliation.
- Maintain a clean and comfortable waiting area.
- Communicate any appointment delays or changes to patients.
- Schedule appointments as required.
- For Patient Service Representatives in Immediate Care Clinics (ICC), there may be a requirement to float to other ICCs or departments.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
