PRIMARY PURPOSE
As a Produce Sales Associate, your primary responsibility is to deliver outstanding customer service within the Produce Department. You will uphold our quality standards as outlined in the standard practice manual, boost sales through exceptional customer interactions, and minimize product shrinkage through effective practices.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create a welcoming atmosphere focused on enthusiastic customer service to enhance the shopping experience.
- Provide assistance and courtesy to fellow associates.
- Manage the ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning, and display of produce according to company policies and guidelines.
- Assist in unloading trucks for the Produce Department.
- Utilize company tools, including the Average Cost Inventory System (ACIS) and Ordering (CAO), effectively.
- Comprehend and adhere to all company guidelines, policies, and standard practices.
- Follow Food Safety and Workplace Safety protocols diligently.
- Identify and rectify unsafe conditions to prevent accidents.
- Report any incidents involving associates or customers to the Manager on Duty according to established procedures.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance by wearing the Food Lion uniform and apron, complete with a name badge, while on duty.
- Complete all required Computer-Based Training (CBT), Training Packets, and Training Aid courses successfully.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Willingness and ability to learn various tasks and technical job requirements.
- Proficient in utilizing technical information to resolve issues.
- Must meet age requirements for specific job functions.
- Must be able to fulfill the physical demands of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Proficient use of computers and communication systems necessary for job functions.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions with hands and arms.
