Full Time: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM with rotating weekends
The Staff Nurse Inpatient embodies the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine, adhering to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, while complying with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory standards.
As a clinically competent, registered professional nurse, you will prescribe, delegate, and coordinate nursing care for acutely ill patients through a comprehensive nursing process that involves assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. You will interact effectively with patients, their families, and the healthcare team, upholding the American Nurses Association standards of professional nursing practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and analyze patient data, identify expected outcomes, and develop and implement individualized care plans while coordinating care delivery and evaluating progress toward outcomes.
- Direct patient care and determine the appropriate utilization of assistants involved in providing direct patient care.
- Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and ancillary staff to create documented care plans that focus on outcomes and effective communication.
- Engage in shared governance, participate in committee work, and contribute to unit projects.
- Assess and document patient responses to nursing interventions in the health record, tailoring the care plan based on evaluation findings.
- Utilize the best available evidence, including research findings, to guide practice decisions.
