Pay Rate: $23.91 – $25.38/hour (Based on Levelling System)

Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours
Job Overview
As a Senior Duty Security Officer at Ontario Shores, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safety and security of patients, visitors, and staff within the hospital environment. This role involves a dynamic mix of proactive patrolling, emergency responses, detailed report writing, and effective coordination with hospital staff to uphold safety standards. A high degree of professionalism, superior customer service skills, and the ability to act decisively in critical situations are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform assigned 12-hour shifts, conducting proactive and reactive patrols as well as incident responses.
- Ensure compliance with standing orders and daily activities for each shift.
- Uphold Paladin Security and hospital security policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement shift work schedules.
- Write comprehensive incident and occurrence reports.
- Efficiently respond to coded emergencies with professionalism.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all individuals, particularly those in distress or requiring medical assistance.
- Maintain acute situational awareness and physical readiness for prolonged standing or walking.
Qualifications
- Possession of a valid Security License for Ontario.
- Current First Aid & CPR – Level C certification from a WSIB-approved provider.
- Completed COVID-19 vaccination (two doses).
- Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella, and a two-step TB skin test.
- Compliance with N95 Mask Fit requirements.
- Fluency in English (oral and written) is mandatory.
- A minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare security role.
- Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) are required. Applicants lacking these certifications may enroll in Paladin's UOF/MOAB certification program prior to onboarding (Note: Training is unpaid but fully covered by Paladin, with a 6-month commitment to the position).
