In this role, you will be entrusted with the safe and efficient delivery of equipment, products, and materials to our valued customers in a professional and timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate the delivery vehicle in compliance with state and federal transportation regulations.
- Safely transport loads along designated routes while adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols.
- Skillfully maneuver the truck and trailer into loading and unloading zones, responding to the loading crew’s signals.
- Assist in loading and unloading goods and materials, utilizing specialized equipment when necessary; return all equipment to the designated area.
- Maintain accurate records including signed invoices and shipping documents, delivering them to the appropriate personnel upon completing the delivery route.
- Conduct routine vehicle maintenance checks, including oil, water, fuel, and air levels; report any mechanical issues to the Shipping Supervisor.
- Organize trailers in shipping yards to ensure optimal loading patterns.
- Undertake additional related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with a professional demeanor while communicating with customers and staff at delivery sites.
- Ability to maintain focus and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
- A valid commercial driver’s license or chauffeur’s license appropriate for the vehicle weight is required.
- Successful completion of background checks and drug testing as mandated by federal regulations.
