Our SEWS team operates across three geographic areas of responsibility: U.S. European Command (USEUCOM), U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM), and U.S. India Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM). We support critical missions for the Department of State (DOS), U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), and US Air Force Space Command (AFSPC).
Clearance Requirement: Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI Eligibility
Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel up to 50%
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure and implement the SEWS GCCS-J software and systems, develop GCCS-J courseware, and provide training to U.S. and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) personnel, along with support for various locations including Colorado Springs and NATO.
- Collaborate with SEWS contractors and government personnel to plan overseas trips while staying informed about theater issues.
- Assist in designing and analyzing user needs, providing hardware and software recommendations.
- Support remote users in troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and communication issues, documenting solutions, and proposing recommendations to minimize repair frequency.
- Address system outages and ensure timely resolution in accordance with contract requirements.
- Provide maintenance support for system and equipment issues.
- Assist with Emergency On-Site Sustainment (EOSS) travel to customer locations as necessary.
- Plan, develop, and conduct GCCS-J Familiarization Training for CCMD and FMS customers.
- Deliver refresher training for existing staff and training for new operators.
- Utilize engineering skills to research, develop, test, and document solutions for Research & Test (R&T) activities.
Qualifications:
- BS degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in systems administration, specifically with GCCS-J version 6.0 and/or Windows and Linux systems.
- In-depth knowledge of Server Operating Systems.
- Familiarity with virtualization concepts and products such as VMware.
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory (AD) for user and group management.
- Proficiency with current Microsoft Operating Systems (Server & Workstation).
- Knowledge of database maintenance including Oracle, Sybase, and Postgres.
