What is the role of a General Manager?
The General Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the successful operation of a profitable restaurant while upholding McDonald’s esteemed standards for Quality, Service, and Cleanliness. This is a significant responsibility, and the ideal candidate will thrive in such an environment.
The General Manager collaborates with their supervisor to establish the restaurant’s objectives and devises a strategic plan to achieve those goals.
To reach these objectives, the General Manager leads a dedicated team of Shift and Department Managers, each with specific roles within the restaurant. This includes guiding the Shift and Department Managers in setting their own goals, monitoring their progress, and offering coaching and direction to enhance departmental performance. By elevating departmental standards, the overall restaurant performance improves!
Additionally, the General Manager is often tasked with recruiting and developing Department and Shift Managers to ensure the restaurant has a capable team ready to lead into the future.
We are looking for candidates with prior experience as a General Manager in high-volume establishments. Graduates from McDonald’s Hamburger University are highly preferred. Technical experience with certifications in OTP2 or OTP3 is also sought after. A background in quick service restaurants, hospitality, or retail is strongly desired.
This position is with a franchisee, not McDonald’s USA. The franchisee operates the restaurant and is responsible for all employment matters, including hiring, training, and scheduling. McDonald’s USA is not involved in the hiring process for this role.
