As the General Manager (Head Coach) at sweetgreen, you will be at the forefront of our mission to inspire healthier communities through real food. You will be the guiding force of your restaurant, driving operational excellence while creating memorable guest experiences supported by data-driven insights.
Your Responsibilities
Lead and empower your team by harmonizing people management, operational efficiency, and business performance. Foster an inclusive environment while coaching talent, leveraging technology to enhance operations, and driving profitability. Uphold the highest standards of food quality, safety, and cleanliness while remaining adaptable in a dynamic environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Guide the complete employee lifecycle, cultivating a culture of trust, transparency, and inclusion. Ensure compliance and deliver timely feedback while building a strong and diverse talent pipeline.
- Food Safety and Operations: Maintain exemplary standards for food safety, cleanliness, and equipment upkeep, addressing facility, supply, and food quality concerns with a focus on team safety.
- Customer Experience: Provide a clean, welcoming, and brand-consistent atmosphere, utilizing guest metrics to inform decisions and enhance the customer experience.
- Financial Acumen: Drive sales and profitability by analyzing financial reports, managing costs, executing strategic plans, and crafting effective employee schedules aligned with business objectives.
- Systems and Technology: Oversee all operational systems, troubleshoot issues, and prioritize daily tasks to ensure seamless business and guest interactions.
- Head Coach Responsibilities: Fulfill all essential duties outlined for the Assistant Coach, including responsibilities from Shift Leader, Kitchen Lead, and Team Member roles.
Your Unique Qualifications
- Proven experience in high-volume, fast-paced restaurant settings.
- Hands-on experience with local, organic, and sustainable food products.
- Possession of ServSafe Manager or Regional Manager Food Safety Certification.
- Tech-savvy with proficiency in digital tools for operations, reporting, and team communication.
- Strong financial management skills, including budget handling and effective oversight of labor and P&L.
- Demonstrated experience in recruiting, coaching, and developing high-performance teams.
- Exceptional ability to adapt and solve problems in fast-paced, dynamic settings.
- Data-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
