Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or a related engineering discipline.At least 2 years of geological experience in mining, civil infrastructure, oil and gas, or environmental sectors.Preferred Qualifications:Over 2 years of experience in soil or rock core logging and geological mapping.Experience in supporting geological or groundwater modelling for more than 2 years.Basic proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.Familiarity with database software packages like EQuIS, OpenGround, or acQuire, along with educational or practical experience in interpreting Quaternary geology in Canada or the US.Eligibility for registration as a Professional Geoscientist or Engineer with EGBC upon fulfilling work experience requirements.Knowledge of relevant provincial, federal, and municipal legislation and regulations.

AECOM is seeking a dedicated Geoscientist to join our dynamic team, based in Burnaby, Victoria, or Kelowna. In this role, you will:

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of hydrogeologists, geologists, geochemists, geotechnical engineers, and groundwater modellers on a variety of projects across Canada and internationally.

  • Contribute to diverse initiatives in remediation, mining, civil infrastructure, solid waste management, and water supply.

  • Conduct quality assurance checks on geological and environmental sampling data.

  • Interpret surficial and bedrock geology in three-dimensional contexts.

  • Assist in the interpretation and reporting of groundwater flow and quality data.

  • Support the development of 3D geological models utilizing borehole data, geological maps, geophysical data, soil/rock chemistry, and water quality assessments.

  • Create 2D cross-sections, volume estimates, and 3D visualizations for various applications.

  • Facilitate geological and hydrogeological assessments, including drilling operations, well installations, permeability testing, soil and water sampling, borehole instrumentation, and contractor management.

  • Enjoy flexible work arrangements while being based in Burnaby or Victoria.
