Role Overview
As a vital member of our team, you will serve as a Translator, playing an essential role in crafting immersive video game experiences tailored for the German market. Your responsibilities will encompass a blend of translation and editing tasks, ensuring that every piece of text, from in-game dialogues to UI and legal documents, captures the intended tone, style, and cultural nuances through a creative translation approach. Working collaboratively within a multilingual localization team, you will contribute to delivering high-quality, engaging experiences that resonate with players globally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute translation tasks, including in-game text, UI, legal texts, and supportive materials, adhering to client guidelines, First Party terminology, and established stylistic tones.
- Conduct editorial tasks, revising and reviewing translations to ensure linguistic accuracy, consistency, and seamless flow.
- Engage in creative translation and localization tasks, including the development and maintenance of glossaries, style guides, and character profiles within established ownership frameworks.
- Adhere to project deadlines and productivity benchmarks while ensuring high standards within the localization pipeline.
- Maintain consistency in tone, voice, and terminology throughout all content and game components.
- Collaborate with fellow translators to review work for coherence and logical content progression.
- Identify and resolve localization challenges, including issues raised during reviews and bugs discovered during testing.
- Utilize translation and project management tools (e.g., memoQ, JIRA, client-specific systems) to monitor progress and sustain workflow visibility.
- Manage localization inquiries in accordance with team workflows.
- Support the onboarding process for new translators, providing guidance on language standards and company processes.
