About the job
As the GIS Industry Solutions Specialist for the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) sectors, you will leverage your extensive knowledge and experience in construction, engineering, and project delivery to contribute to Esri’s vision for revolutionizing the design, construction, and operation of the built environment through GIS. This position underscores the entire construction lifecycle, from planning and design to preconstruction, field execution, and operations, highlighting how location intelligence, digital twins, and integrated data environments can lead to safer, more efficient, and more predictable outcomes.
You will work in conjunction with Esri’s AEC Industry Manager and various cross-functional teams (including marketing, sales, product development, and professional services) to enhance awareness, engage stakeholders, and promote the adoption of Esri technology across the global construction landscape. This involves creating influential thought leadership, supporting industry events, and directly engaging with contractors, engineers, architects, and project owners to demonstrate how GIS bridges the gap between the job site and the office, as well as between projects and the planet.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the AEC Industry Manager and cross-functional teams to advance Esri’s construction-focused industry strategy, integrating field workflows with design, asset management, and operational processes.
- Create and disseminate construction-focused content such as webinars, case studies, white papers, and social media posts that illustrate the transformative effects of GIS on project coordination, scheduling, site logistics, field data collection, safety, and sustainability.
- Engage with contractors, engineers, and technology partners to document and share customer success stories that showcase quantifiable improvements including reduced rework, enhanced cost control, and better situational awareness.
- Support Esri’s participation at major construction and infrastructure events (e.g., AU, CONEXPO, AGC IT Forum, IMGIS, ESRI UC), organizing sessions, presentations, and networking opportunities to highlight the role of GIS in AEC.
- Foster and develop the AEC community through online platforms, partnerships, and user groups focused on construction innovation.
- Provide insights into construction market trends, competitive technologies, and emerging digital delivery standards (such as ISO 19650, ASCE 38/75, openBIM, digital twins).
- Contribute to marketing campaigns that align with Esri’s growth objectives for the AEC sector and demonstrate tangible ROI for construction professionals.
- Act as an internal advocate for the construction industry, assisting Esri teams in understanding job site realities, project delivery challenges, and data integration needs.
