1. MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Global Product and Accreditation Manager for Forest Management Certification will lead the SGS Global Forest Management Certification sector. This role encompasses the administration of FSC Forest Management accreditation and the supervision of local PEFC FM accreditations. The manager will play a pivotal role in supporting the Global Forestry Team to enhance and expand the Forest Management business.
2. REPORTING STRUCTURE
This position reports directly to the Global Head of Forestry and Nature.
3. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive the global advancement of the Business Assurance (BA) Forest Management certification sector, including FSC FM and PEFC FM.
- Oversee FSC Forest Management accreditation while providing support and supervision for local PEFC FM accreditations.
- Organize accreditation body audits and ensure prompt and effective resolution of any accreditation findings.
- Manage complaints and appeals in accordance with SGS policies, procedures, and accreditation requirements.
- Compile and deliver necessary information for Advisory Board meetings.
- Guarantee certification competence, including auditor approval and sign-off of certification functions as the Technical Approval Authority (TAA).
- Supervise quality management initiatives and monitor the performance of SGS delivering affiliates.
- Coordinate and conduct internal technical audits in alignment with the global internal audit plan.
- Organize Level 1 (L1) audits within the accreditation scope.
- Review technical certification reports to ensure adherence to accreditation requirements and sound certification decision-making.
- Conduct technical evaluations of Forest Management reports as needed.
- Provide timely technical support and guidance to assigned SGS affiliates.
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with accreditation standards.
- Ensure the ongoing accuracy of the FSC database.
- Comply with all quality and safety protocols outlined by the SGS management system.
- Conduct FSC Forest Management audits as required.
- Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the direct line manager.
4. SPECIFIC AUTHORITIES
- Halt the use of any equipment deemed a safety risk and report such situations to higher authority for corrective action.
- Stop any work that may compromise service quality and report the situation to higher authority.
- Initiate formal improvement requests when deviations or potential enhancements are identified.
