You will be part of a dynamic and technically adept team of hardware, systems, and validation engineers who depend on the lab for the successful transition of products from initial development through rigorous testing. Your role will also involve collaboration with operations, logistics, and external partners to optimize lab workflows and ensure timely project delivery.
Your Role
As a Hardware Lab Engineer, you will be instrumental in maintaining an organized and functional hardware lab environment, ensuring it is always primed for testing. This position combines hands-on technical support with active coordination and problem-solving to guarantee that engineers have all necessary tools, systems, and infrastructure to validate next-generation hardware.
- Wire and manage power cords, console servers, terminal servers, lab networking, environmental chambers, and liquid-cooling systems in the Hardware EDVT labs.
- Oversee, track, and coordinate equipment repairs and calibrations in partnership with vendors like Weiss Technik and Delta.
- Facilitate shipping and receiving processes at headquarters to manage Advance Replacement (AR) products between HQ and hardware storage.
- Assist cross-functional teams with the setup and relocation of fixed and modular systems (15–20 lbs) within HW Lab environments and chambers.
- Administer the hardware lab storage areas, including tracking Devices Under Test (DUTs) entering and exiting.
- Monitor inventory levels of optics, cables, and loopbacks across offsite locations, HQ, and HW labs; aid web teams in the development of an e-inventory tool.
- Coordinate equipment reservations to support chamber testing, liquid cooling, and power testing.
- Learn about and support the management of liquid-cooling equipment, server and lab infrastructure, and server configuration updates.
- Assist with the movement of pallets, boxes, furniture, and lab equipment as required.
- Program and update system programmable devices such as CPLDs, FPGAs, microcontrollers, and onboard power supplies.
