Position Overview
We are on the lookout for a passionate Health Information Specialist to enhance our front desk operations and facilitate Release of Information (ROI) services within our healthcare facility in Columbus, OH. This hybrid role will blend direct patient interaction with the flexibility of remote work based on business needs.
The selected candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient, precise, and compliant management of medical record requests. This position is perfect for individuals who thrive on direct patient engagement, possess strong attention to detail, and are eager for long-term career development in the healthcare field.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact at the front desk for patients seeking medical records or releases.
- Provide phone support to patients, healthcare providers, and authorized requesters.
- Accurately and promptly process Release of Information (ROI) requests.
- Handle faxing, scanning, and management of incoming and outgoing medical record requests.
- Create CDs for medical images and distribute them electronically as needed.
- Maintain professional communication to support client relationship management.
- Assist with administrative tasks, including data entry and email correspondence.
- Ensure adherence to HIPAA, privacy laws, and facility protocols.
Training & Onboarding
- Comprehensive VROI training will be provided.
- On-the-job, onsite training will take place during the first 30 days.
