ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE
The Health & Safety Manager is a vital role within ABM Aviation, responsible for ensuring that our safety protocols and procedures are seamlessly integrated across our Passenger Related Services operations at London Heathrow Airport. This position will prioritize the promotion of a safety-first culture, adherence to aviation regulations, and ongoing enhancement of safety practices throughout the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive compliance and awareness of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) standards throughout the organization to ensure adherence to corporate and sector policies.
- Assist the Head of QHSE in maintaining aviation sector QHSE procedures.
- Implement changes to QHSE policies in partnership with the Head of QHSE.
- Support the Head of QHSE in reviewing internal system procedures, including the maintenance of QHSE reporting platforms.
- Work proactively with managers and key personnel to establish and sustain continuous improvement initiatives in health, safety, and wellbeing.
- Collaborate with operational teams to effectively address safety concerns in a timely manner.
- Oversee the implementation and monitoring of safety management systems (SMS) to align with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Lead investigations into incidents and accidents, preparing comprehensive reports and recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
- Analyze safety performance data to develop proactive strategies for enhancing safety outcomes.
- Serve as the main point of contact for aviation safety inquiries, maintaining communication with stakeholders, including regulatory bodies.
- Facilitate safety meetings, workshops, and seminars to engage customers, employees, and leadership in safety initiatives.
- Stay informed on industry trends, regulations, and standards to ensure ABM Aviation remains at the forefront of safety management.
- Assist in managing insurance claims, including determining occurrences through investigation reports.
