International Health and Medical Services is seeking a skilled Health Service Administrator to oversee the daily operations of the Health Services Department. Working in partnership with the Clinical Director, this role involves leading a diverse team of healthcare professionals responsible for delivering medical, dental, and allied health services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of healthcare services within the facility.
- Ensure that the organization and delivery of healthcare services comply with all relevant policies, accreditation standards, laws, and regulations.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Director and Nurse Manager within a Triad leadership model to establish processes that guarantee all patients have equal access to high-quality care.
- Foster collaborative relationships with clients and external agencies as needed.
- Conduct supervisory duties, including training and mentoring the Assistant Health Services Administrator (AHSA) and Facility Healthcare Program Manager (FHPM).
- Develop and implement a schedule to fulfill the healthcare mission.
- Engage with assigned providers and ancillary staff regarding program plans.
- Monitor the annual budget for both internal and external medical services.
- Plan and coordinate procurement and contracts for supplies, equipment, specialty care, and ancillary services.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Assist the Regional HSA in implementing the Bureau’s re-entry initiatives, including data entry at admission and evaluation of health status documented in an updated electronic exit summary.
- Organize training for medical personnel according to BOP medical program standards, American Correctional Association (ACA) standards, and specific medical program guidelines.
- Contribute to the maintenance of institutional security.
- Provide administrative supervision to government employees within their reporting structure and manage personnel issues and resolutions as necessary.
- Utilize advanced judgment, analytical skills, and decision-making abilities when delegating tasks and responsibilities to the multidisciplinary team.
- Complete all required organizational compliance training, including client-specific requirements for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.
