Join the City and County of San Francisco as a Health Worker 4, contributing to vital health and rehabilitation programs across various locations, including Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG), Laguna Honda Hospital (LHH), numerous clinics, the SF Unified School District (USD), and the Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing (HOM).
Shift: Flexibility is key, as positions may require working days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee health or rehabilitation programs; coordinate educational, recreational, therapeutic, and work projects for participants under professional guidance.
- Train and supervise lower classification paraprofessional staff, aiding in the creation of in-service training materials and collaborating with Team Leaders on performance evaluations.
- Engage with community representatives and social agencies to promote available treatment programs, fostering public education and collaboration.
- Assist in program planning, operations, research initiatives, and report preparation; analyze data to recommend preventive social and health programs.
- Conduct client interviews and screenings, perform crisis intervention under professional supervision, and provide social counseling and group therapy support.
- Supervise program operations in designated wards or units and assist program directors as needed.
The Health Worker 4 may also be tasked with additional duties as required.
Work Environment: Certain roles may involve direct interaction with homeless individuals, exposure to infectious diseases, or work in jails or psychiatric facilities. Candidates should be prepared for various working conditions, including inclement weather and potential heavy lifting.
