Who We Are
Founded in 2010, Challenge Preparatory Charter School (Challenge Prep) has been dedicated to delivering a superior academic experience to students and families in Far Rockaway, Queens. With a current enrollment exceeding 1200 scholars from Kindergarten through 12th grade across three campuses, our mission is to empower students from the Greater Far Rockaway community to excel academically, master the New York State Learning Standards, and achieve their career ambitions. Challenge is committed to fostering the intellectual, aesthetic, social, emotional, and ethical growth of its students, equipping them to become responsible 21st-century citizens. To fulfill this mission, we provide a rigorous instructional program within a safe, supportive, technology-enhanced environment that includes social-emotional learning, authentic field experiences, career counseling, and college coursework. We recognize that we are one cohesive organization with multiple campuses, and we expect collaboration among all team members to support our scholars.
