The Hotel Accounting Manager plays a pivotal role in accurately documenting and reporting all non-gaming revenue for the resort. This position involves thorough examination and analysis of financial reports and transactions to ensure adherence to internal control procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procedures for all facets of Hotel Accounting while directing and overseeing the execution of the strategic plan.
- Guarantee that revenue entries are accurately recorded in the appropriate ledger accounts, reconciling these with point of sale and property management systems. Ensure proper recording and settlement of credit card transactions, investigating and resolving any discrepancies. Supervise non-gaming account receivables, including direct bills, group sales, banquets, and credit card chargebacks.
- Manage tenant leases and review tenant revenue reports to confirm accurate rent billing and collection.
- Oversee the implementation and ongoing maintenance of accounting internal control policies and procedures to sustain a robust internal control environment across all Hotel Operations Accounting, providing necessary documentation for internal and external auditors.
- Continuously refine processes and strategies to enhance efficiency and evaluate software solutions that offer a favorable cost/benefit ratio.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Essential Functions
- Conduct daily accounting activities, reporting, and issue resolution in collaboration with business operators.
- Prepare sales and use tax returns and other governmental monthly and quarterly reports and filings.
- Be aware of casino-related environmental factors, including exposure to secondhand smoke, excessive noise, and the stress associated with serving customers in a fast-paced environment.
