As a pivotal member of our HR team, the HR Generalist plays a crucial role in fostering a proactive and results-driven approach to business and people strategy at Sutherland. This dynamic position encompasses a variety of generalist responsibilities such as onboarding new hires, managing employee relations and engagement, supporting growth and development initiatives, overseeing performance and talent management, and handling payroll administration. You'll partner with line management to address HR needs and spearhead special projects, all while mentoring managers to embody Sutherland's core values and winning behaviors aligned with our policies and processes.
In this role, you will contribute both hands-on and strategically to enhance employee experience and advocate for Sutherland's culture and values. You will guide senior leaders on HR matters, offering creative solutions and effective strategies to drive engagement and retention across a workforce of over 500 employees.
- Your responsibilities will include:
- Shaping Workplace Culture: Enhance team dynamics, drive engagement, and promote positive workplace attitudes; champion our Extra Mile and Platinum Awards programs.
- Executing HR Strategies: Address challenges related to performance and retention; clarify and uphold HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with employment regulations.
- Maintaining Alignment: Assess and monitor existing HR policies; recommend action plans for regulatory compliance, including equal employment opportunity initiatives.
- Encouraging Open Communication: Foster a collaborative environment by being approachable and providing direct HR support to the business.
- Building Strong Relationships: Develop sustainable solutions for individual employee challenges and conduct investigations when necessary, collaborating with legal advisors on HR legalities.
