About the Role
The Hypothermia Coordinator plays a vital role in managing our temporary Hypothermia program operational from November 15 to April 1. Responsibilities include setting up program facilities, transporting participants in a Shelter House vehicle, conducting orientations, distributing meals, organizing shower schedules, and ensuring all participant needs are met. This position also involves connecting participants with resources like the Drop-In Day Program and Emergency Shelter, as well as documenting participant engagement in the hypothermia program.
How You Will Contribute
Your contributions will ensure a safe and welcoming environment for participants through:
- Monitoring participant safety and maintaining accurate participant counts throughout shifts.
- Documenting regular site walkthroughs to ensure the safety and cleanliness of the facility.
- Organizing and distributing cots and bedding following cleaning procedures.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization within the hypothermia area at all times.
- Reporting critical incidents to the supervisor and completing necessary documentation.
- Providing support and crisis intervention services to shelter guests.
- Engaging in physical tasks such as unloading donations, distributing supplies, and facility checks.
- Preparing coffee and setting up continental breakfasts for participants.
