About the job
As the Image Composition Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in the artistic and technical integration of shots provided by the 2D team. As the guardian of visual quality and adherence to methodologies, you will work closely with VFX and CG Supervisors, production teams, and the artistic direction to ensure that deliverables align with the project vision.
You will serve as an expert practitioner, a mentor, a workflow manager, and an interdisciplinary point of contact, rallying your team around high standards while ensuring meticulous planning and smooth execution of assigned tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Creative Quality
Translate the artistic vision of the project into actionable guidelines for composition artists.
Lead daily reviews, assess internal versions, and guide artists towards exceptional creative execution.
Collaborate with VFX and CG supervisors to tackle complex visual challenges and maintain harmony across departments.
Propose feasible aesthetic solutions considering technical, budgetary, or production constraints.
Actively participate in the development or realization of key shots or complex sequences.
Technical Quality
Establish and uphold a rigorous technical methodology suited to the Rodeo FX pipeline.
Validate script compliance, optimize renderings, and ensure the cleanliness of deliverables.
Contribute to the creation and documentation of composition-specific tools or templates.
Monitor continuity between shots and guarantee the overall technical quality of the work.
Work in conjunction with other departments to swiftly identify and resolve technical issues.
Leadership and Communication
Guide, motivate, and empower artists throughout the project lifecycle.
Clearly communicate objectives, feedback, and expectations during briefs, daily reviews, or one-on-one meetings.
Remain composed during critical periods, mediate issues, and alert the appropriate stakeholders (production, supervision, HR, etc.) at the right moments.
Foster a healthy, collaborative work environment aligned with Rodeo FX values.
Support team members' development, identify training needs, and share knowledge.
Project Management
Engage in estimations, artist casting, and planning deliverables in conjunction with production.
Track shot progress, anticipate blocking risks, and adjust priorities as needed.
