WHO YOU ARE:
We are in search of a proficient AWS Security Operations Engineer to join our dynamic cloud infrastructure team. This role serves as a critical link between security governance and cloud operations, ensuring that our AWS environments adhere to compliance standards, maintain security integrity, and align with organizational policies. You will collaborate closely with our Security and Platform Engineering teams to transform governance requirements into practical configurations, automated workflows, and robust monitoring solutions.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Collaborate with the Security team to interpret and operationalize security policies, controls, and governance requirements across AWS environments.
- Oversee the implementation and management of AWS security controls, including IAM roles and policies, Security Groups, GuardDuty, Security Hub, and Config Rules.
- Investigate and address AWS security alerts, findings, and compliance violations.
- Create and automate security runbooks to enhance response times and ensure consistency.
- Continuously monitor AWS accounts for compliance with security best practices and company policies.
- Evaluate AWS configurations regularly for vulnerabilities and misconfigurations.
- Support incident response protocols, including the analysis and remediation of security events within AWS.
- Partner with DevOps and platform engineering teams to embed security practices into CI/CD pipelines.
- Utilize both AWS-native and third-party tools for enhanced visibility, alerting, and automation.
- Document and communicate security procedures, operational playbooks, and remediation workflows.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in cloud security or cloud operations roles.
- Extensive experience in securing and managing AWS environments.
- Demonstrated capability to translate governance and policy requirements into actionable security measures.
