About You and This Role
We are on a mission to automate construction through robotics, enabling the production of affordable, stunning, high-quality housing at scale. We are seeking a Mechatronics Engineer who embodies a maker's spirit, favors speed and simplicity, and possesses the ability to conceptualize robotic designs on paper and bring them to life.
In this role, you will take ownership of complete mechatronic systems from initial concept to production. Your involvement will span every phase of the engineering process: defining innovative capabilities, performing preliminary calculations, and steering hardware design through prototyping, testing, and validation. This will encompass actuator and sensor selection, system integration, and firmware development. You will troubleshoot hardware issues both in our office and on-site, testing in live construction environments and refining designs for robustness and scalability. After successfully managing well-defined projects, you will lead larger initiatives with a small multidisciplinary team.
