Join Alpena Public Schools as an Instructional Assistant at Besser Elementary School. This role is pivotal in supporting students from kindergarten through 12th grade, with a focus on areas such as at-risk education, before and after school care, and special education.
As an Instructional Assistant, you will assist teachers in the classroom, supervise students in various settings including cafeterias, libraries, and playgrounds, and ensure safety in hallways. You may also help students with personal care, instructional activities, and behavioral challenges.
Hours: Up to 7 hours per day.

QUALIFICATIONS:
A High School diploma or GED is mandatory. Successful completion of district-provided professional development is necessary unless the applicant meets Highly Qualified criteria (e.g., an Associate degree or 60 semester hours of college credit). Patience, a genuine desire to work with children, and prior experience in child education are preferred. All employees must pass a criminal history/fingerprint check.
