About Our Client

Role Overview
As the Interim Engineering Manager, you will take on a strategic leadership role, guiding both backend and frontend engineering teams. This managerial position focuses on planning, execution, and communication under tight deadlines, eschewing hands-on coding.
You will serve as a vital link between engineering, product, and customer-facing stakeholders, ensuring that technology initiatives effectively enhance onboarding processes, in-store experiences, and the overall customer journey.
This role demands strong technical credibility, as you will collaborate closely with senior digital leaders who possess extensive technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate backend and frontend engineering teams to successfully deliver on agreed priorities; oversee planning, design alignment, delivery cadence, and dependency management.
Ensure that engineering outputs align with business objectives and customer experience goals; facilitate the onboarding of new initiatives, teams, and customer-facing capabilities.
Act as the primary communication point for product, customer experience (CX), and business stakeholders; maintain transparency regarding timelines, trade-offs, and delivery impacts.
Provide technical oversight and direction without direct involvement in development; work closely with architects, product owners, and tech leads to ensure roadmap alignment.
Identify potential risks, bottlenecks, and delivery issues early; escalate proactively to protect project outcomes.
