The Inventory Control Supervisor is essential in enhancing inventory precision, operational efficiency, and cost management through the application of industry best practices and lean methodologies. The ideal candidate will spearhead cross-departmental initiatives, partner with key stakeholders, and drive the ongoing enhancement of inventory systems and processes in alignment with the company's objectives and production demands.
Inventory Management & Control
- Oversee daily monitoring of on-hand, in-transit, and ordered materials; proactively identify potential risks;
- Take ownership of inventory accuracy;
- Ensure compliance with reporting standards while maintaining inventory accuracy and turnover rates through effective controls and physical inventories;
- Establish and uphold robust inventory control processes, including cycle counts, reconciliations, root cause analysis, and follow-up on corrective actions.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Create and distribute reports that assess inventory performance and forecast accuracy;
- Lead the development and upkeep of dashboards for insights on replenishment, backorders, supplier performance, and inventory risks;
- Utilize data to challenge decisions, model scenarios, and propose corrective actions;
- Report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive actions based on data analysis and root-cause investigations.
Demand Planning & Forecasting
- Direct the demand planning process for all product categories, encompassing rolling forecasts, trend analysis, seasonality, and new product launches;
- Examine demand patterns for strategic planning and inventory management;
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Operations, Engineering, and Project Management to validate demand assumptions and address forecasting discrepancies;
- Create and sustain dashboards for forecast accuracy; implement continuous improvement initiatives to mitigate bias and variability.
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Establish clear objectives, provide mentorship, and cultivate an environment focused on accountability and continuous improvement;
- Distribute workload effectively across the team, ensuring high standards in analysis, reporting, and inventory control activities.
