As an Inventory Manager for Fresh Produce at Van Gelder, you will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and optimizing the inventory of potatoes, vegetables, and fruits. You will ensure timely availability of our products, maintain quality, and minimize waste.
What will you do?
In this versatile role, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing daily inventory for various product groups based on sales forecasts and order history;
- Closely monitoring stock levels, timely replenishing, and reporting shortages to prevent production halts;
- Analyzing turnover rates and seasonal influences;
- Entering daily purchase orders and maintaining accurate records;
- Coordinating with kitchen and production departments to guarantee smooth scheduling and availability of products;
- Assisting in creating clear and realistic weekly plans for purchasing and inventory management;
- Preventing excess stock and contributing ideas to minimize loss of perishable items.
This position offers the opportunity for growth into a (Junior) Buyer.
