Join our Amsterdam office as an IT Specialist, where you will ensure a stable, secure, and future-proof IT environment for both our local team and international colleagues. Roland Berger Amsterdam is looking for an IT Specialist / 1st Line Support Technician to support our office and our global teams.
As an IT Specialist, you play a crucial role in our organization. You will provide daily support to 150 colleagues – both consultants and administrative staff – who rely on a smoothly functioning IT landscape. Your responsibilities include ensuring optimal performance of our hardware, software, and accounts, delivering quick and effective assistance to your coworkers. You will also be part of our global ServiceHub, offering first-line IT support to colleagues worldwide. Additionally, you will be the go-to person for minor repairs and general maintenance of office facilities, such as coffee machines.
Key Responsibilities:
Hardware:
- Setup and distribution of laptops, iPads, iPhones, and accessories.
- Maintenance and support for printers, video-conferencing equipment, Wi-Fi extenders, etc.
Software:
- Maintenance of applications including Microsoft 365, Teams, Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, Dataiku, Adobe, and internal applications.
Data & Projects:
- Assisting consultants with IT-related tasks such as web scraping, data analysis, or AI tools.
Connectivity & Accounts:
- Managing mobile telephony (Odido), VPN access, license management, and software subscriptions.
Documentation & Optimization:
- Proactively create and maintain manuals in our global ticketing system.
- Identify recurring issues and structural improvement opportunities.
- Stay informed about relevant IT developments and share insights with the team.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with an experienced IT specialist, the responsible partner, and supporting consultant in Amsterdam.
- Maintain active communication with our international IT teams in Germany.
- Manage hardware inventory and monitor distribution to employees.
- Keep the office updated on relevant IT developments or changes.
Who Are We Looking For?

You are:
- Graduated from a relevant IT MBO or HBO program.
- Have 1-2 years of experience in IT support within a business environment.
- Familiar with the listed hardware and software.
- Service-oriented, communicative, and solution-focused.
- Proactive and enthusiastic.
