THE POSITION
Join FanDuel's dynamic legal team as an Employment Counsel Manager, where your expertise will shape our labor and employment strategies. We're on the lookout for a skilled legal professional with at least 3 years of experience, either in a prestigious law firm or within an in-house legal team at a technology company. You will report directly to the Senior Director of Labor and Employment Counsel and collaborate with various business units across FanDuel.
In addition to your core responsibilities, you may be asked to take on other tasks as directed by the Company, allowing for adaptability in meeting our evolving needs.
THE GAME PLAN
Your contributions will include:
- Providing comprehensive legal guidance to HR colleagues and other key stakeholders on employment law matters as directed by the Senior Director.
- Offering legal insights across a spectrum of employment-related issues, including employee relations, leave policies, accommodations, wage and hour laws, immigration, and protective agreements.
- Drafting and advising on employment documents such as contracts, offer letters, and agreements.
- Staying informed on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, and Fair Labor Standards Act.
- Participating in employment law projects, including policy development, implementation, and training programs.
- Supporting pre-litigation and litigation efforts related to employment matters and overseeing external counsel when necessary.
- Monitoring legislative changes and providing proactive advice to business partners.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of employment regulations and pending legislation.
- Building collaborative relationships with personnel across supported business units.
- Exhibiting strong business judgment, ownership, and the ability to navigate complex situations with confidence.
