The Land Surveyor will play a crucial role in executing accurate surveying and setting-out activities for stormwater and microtunneling projects, encompassing shafts, tunnels, pipelines, chambers, and other related structures. This position ensures that all construction alignments, levels, and coordinates are established meticulously according to approved drawings, project specifications, and the standards set by the RTA and DM.
- Conduct topographic, control, and setting-out surveys for stormwater and microtunneling projects, including pipelines, shafts, manholes, and associated civil structures.
- Establish, verify, and maintain survey control points, benchmarks, and reference grids in collaboration with the contractor's survey team, utilizing approved IFC drawings and coordinate systems in adherence to RTA and project requirements.
- Inspect and confirm horizontal and vertical alignments, pipe inverts, tunnel drives, shaft locations, and microtunneling drive alignments, ensuring compliance with allowable tolerances before and during construction.
- Ensure all setting-out activities are conducted per approved method statements and calibration procedures.
- Perform as-built surveys and verify the accuracy of contractors' as-built drawings and survey results prior to submission and certification for interim payments.
- Maintain comprehensive survey records, field books, and digital data files to ensure full traceability of survey operations.
- Coordinate with the contractor and supervision team to resolve survey discrepancies or deviations on-site, and actively participate in pre-construction and progress meetings to provide feedback on survey status and necessary actions.
- Adhere to HSE standards during all field operations, particularly in confined-space and shaft areas.
- Support the testing, commissioning, and handover phases by verifying final levels and coordinates.
