Join our dynamic team at KPFF as a Land Use Project Manager, working closely with the Team Leader and Principal in a collaborative, small team environment supported by the larger KPFF community. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead entitlement and permitting initiatives for waterfront, civil, transportation, and bridge projects, while also managing transportation planning projects that encompass research, writing, and oversight of staff and subconsultants.
This position is part of the KPFF Planning Team, a specialized group dedicated to waterborne transportation feasibility planning, implementation, and providing entitlement support for various KPFF engineering projects. Notable projects include the WSF Long Range Plan and the PSRC Passenger-Only Ferry Study.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management:
- Lead land use and transportation planning projects, managing their scopes and timelines to ensure all objectives are met.
- Review and finalize reports and memos, ensuring clarity and quality.
- Direct spatial analysis and mapping to support planning efforts.
- Oversee grant writing and proposal development.
- Coordinate deliverables across teams and subconsultants from various disciplines.
- Prepare comprehensive project documentation, including presentations, reports, and spreadsheets.
- Identify resource requirements and delegate responsibilities effectively.
- Facilitate client and public meetings, ensuring follow-through on action items.
- Ensure compliance with project requirements and maintain organized project documentation.
- Manage budgets by analyzing spending, preparing budget reports, and ensuring timely invoicing.
Planning:
- Lead the development of project documentation alongside planners, engineers, and clients.
- Develop strategies and recommendations based on client needs and expert input.
- Demonstrate awareness of engagement principles and processes.
Permitting:
- Conduct research and interpret code requirements for properties and projects.
- Coordinate land use and regulatory processes across various disciplines and jurisdictions.
- Build and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies to facilitate permitting.
- Collaborate with design teams to provide accurate information for permit applications.
- Manage the preparation and submission of permit applications.
