The Telegraph’s Commercial Design & Development team is on the lookout for a talented Lead Digital Developer to spearhead a dynamic team of digital designers, delivering captivating story-driven creative experiences across our digital platforms.
In this role, you will engage in high-impact projects, including long-form articles, AMP stories, and other innovative formats, guaranteeing that our outputs reflect the highest standards of creativity and technical excellence.
This position merges hands-on development with leadership responsibilities. You will mentor and inspire a skilled group of designers while collaborating closely with colleagues across the commercial sector to bring visionary ideas to fruition.
We seek an individual with robust development expertise, an eye for visual aesthetics and user experience design, and the confidence to actively participate in creative discussions, brainstorming sessions, and presentations. A meticulous attention to detail and a fervor for pioneering digital storytelling are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a small team of digital designers, enhancing their design and development skills and confidence on commercial projects.
- Craft and develop digital campaign components, including tailor-made long-form content and other narrative-driven formats requiring custom development.
- Continuously assess and optimize creative outputs to enhance campaign performance and user experience.
- Oversee projects from concept to final delivery, ensuring high standards and timely completion.
- Provide constructive feedback on team outputs in a collaborative manner.
- Participate in internal meetings to grasp campaign objectives, contribute creative ideas, and present design and UX strategies when necessary.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues throughout the organization to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Stay informed about emerging design and development trends, contributing to the ideation of new concepts and formats for future campaigns.
