Role Overview
The Lead Ecommerce Strategy will spearhead strategic commerce initiatives for WPP Media’s Commerce clients, defining how brands can thrive across ecommerce marketplaces, quick commerce, retail media, niche platforms, and emerging commerce ecosystems. This role involves distilling complex platform, consumer, and commercial dynamics into clear strategic frameworks, growth roadmaps, and insightful whitepapers.
Situated at the nexus of commerce strategy, retail media, data & technology, and strategic consulting, this position collaborates closely with senior client stakeholders, platform partners, and cross-agency leadership. The individual will be instrumental in driving category leadership, commerce media strategy, profitability, and scalable commerce transformation for clients.
Key Responsibilities
- New Business/Pitches: Lead and convert pitch ratios for FMCG clients.
- Existing Clients: Direct commerce strategy development, including annual growth roadmaps, category expansion strategies, and FMCG playbooks.
- Platforms: Develop platform-specific playbooks across marketplaces, quick commerce, and other formats.
- Off Platform: Create synergies between online and offline platforms.
- Strategic Recommendations: Transform consumer behavior, platform mechanics, and retail media signals into actionable strategies that enhance market share, profitability, and brand equity.
- Commerce POVs: Develop and maintain points of view on commerce trends and strategies.
