AECOM is actively seeking a highly skilled Lead Electrical Engineer with specialization in Hyper-scale Data Centers. This pivotal role involves the design, implementation, and maintenance of electrical systems within large-scale data centers.
The successful candidate will significantly contribute to the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our data center infrastructure. We are looking for a professional who possesses a robust background in electrical engineering and has hands-on experience with high-density data center environments.
This position allows for a flexible remote work schedule and can be undertaken from various locations in the U.S. where AECOM has an office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement electrical systems for hyper-scale data centers, focusing on medium and low-voltage power distribution, backup power, and emergency systems.
- Create and manage electrical schematics, bills of materials, and installation drawings.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards, codes, and regulations, including the National Electric Code (NEC) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to establish specifications, design criteria, and project budgets.
- Conduct analyses of electrical systems to troubleshoot and resolve issues, including load balancing, capacity planning, and power consumption optimization.
- Oversee and maintain electrical systems, performing preventive maintenance, testing, and repairs as necessary.
- Develop and implement electrical safety procedures and training programs for technicians and staff.
- Stay informed on advancements in electrical engineering and data center technologies, recommending innovations to enhance the reliability and efficiency of our infrastructure.
- Ensure project success within the electrical discipline.
- Provide specialized technical guidance and mentorship to mid-level engineers.
- Review and approve work, serving as the Engineer of Record.
- Prepare estimates for engineering budgets and schedules for large, complex projects.
- Foster technical client relationships and play a key role in business development.
