About the job
At May Mobility, we are on a mission to revolutionize urban landscapes through innovative autonomous technology. Based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, we design and deploy autonomous vehicles (AVs) that leverage our groundbreaking Multi-Policy Decision Making (MPDM) technology, redefining how AVs navigate the world.
Our autonomous vehicles do more than just self-drive; they enrich communities by bridging public transit gaps and ensuring safe, enjoyable transportation for all. We are committed to developing the best autonomy systems that not only reduce traffic congestion but also enhance accessibility and promote sustainable land use for greener, more livable spaces. Since our inception in 2017, we have provided over 500,000 autonomous rides globally, and we are just getting started. If you are passionate about shaping the future of transportation and making a tangible impact, we want you on our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, architect, and implement a high-performance lane and route network mapping system, ensuring seamless integration with our overall autonomy framework.
- Lead the research and development of advanced neural network architectures, including vectorized mapping networks (e.g., MapTR), multi-camera BEV transformers, and LiDAR-camera fusion models to effectively extract and model lane and route networks for both offline and online applications.
- Drive major feature developments from ideation through deployment, overseeing high-level architecture design, conducting thorough code reviews, automated testing, and resolving technical challenges.
- Oversee the end-to-end data strategy for the mapping domain, defining processes for data curation, auto-labeling, synthetic data generation, and active learning to address long-tail scenarios.
- Create robust metrics and evaluation frameworks to assess lane and route network accuracy, temporal consistency, and scalability across diverse Operational Design Domains (ODDs).
- Collaborate independently with cross-functional teams to translate complex autonomy goals into well-defined software and system requirements.
- Partner with ML and Autonomy engineers to ensure the smooth deployment and validation of mapping features across our vehicle fleet.
- Stay at the forefront of research by evaluating, adapting, and innovating utilizing cutting-edge techniques, including online vectorized HD map construction and end-to-end mapping models.
