AECOM is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in Hyperscale Data Center projects to take charge of mechanical engineering tasks. This role involves designing and supervising the construction of vital mechanical systems for hyperscale data centers, including HVAC, piping, and fire suppression systems. The Mechanical Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our data center infrastructure. We are looking for candidates with a solid mechanical engineering background and significant experience in high-density data centers.
This position allows for a flexible remote work environment, enabling you to work from various locations across the U.S. where AECOM has offices.

Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary liaison for clients, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Foster strong client relationships through regular communication to understand their needs and expectations.
- Lead multidisciplinary coordination efforts and manage the mechanical engineering team to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Generate detailed specifications for mechanical equipment, including pumps, fans, and air handling units.
- Compile reports for both internal and external stakeholders based on findings.
- Ensure discipline plans align with overall project requirements for scope and timelines.
- Stay informed about relevant codes and technologies applicable to mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems in hyperscale data centers.
- Assess and enhance mechanical system performance, identifying areas for improvement and recommending upgrades.
- Provide technical support during construction, addressing RFIs and issues as they arise.
- Participate in site visits, project meetings, and commissioning activities as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Evaluate and propose new technologies and equipment to improve system performance and lower operational costs.
