About The Role
WaitWhat is on the lookout for a dynamic, creative, and adaptable Lead Producer for an exciting new podcast that follows a call-in advice format. Similar to our existing acclaimed properties like Masters of Scale, Rapid Response, and Pioneers of AI, this new podcast (name to be determined) will be produced in both audio and video formats, leveraging our expanding YouTube audience while adhering to our high audio production standards. WaitWhat approaches our content as multi-platform franchises, engaging audiences across various formats including audio podcasts, YouTube shorts, LinkedIn posts, and live events.
The Lead Producer will employ a robust editorial approach to guiding hosts, curating guests and callers, and conducting show edits that resonate across different mediums. We seek candidates with a strong storytelling instinct, sharp listening skills, and a proactive, flexible attitude. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, working with teams across our organization to elevate this property to new heights.
In addition to audio editing, the Lead Producer will engage in guest curation, ideation, and the editorial development of the show, innovating its format as part of a creative cross-functional team. This position is perfect for someone passionate about entrepreneurship and small businesses, and/or who has experience with listener call-in shows or segments.
The Lead Producer will report to WaitWhat’s Executive Producer of original podcasts and will collaborate with a team that includes two hosts, an Associate Producer, a video editor, and a mix engineer.
