At ThoughtWorks, the role of a Lead Quality Analyst is critical throughout the delivery process. This position entails collaborating with a diverse team, including Developers, Business Analysts, and Designers, to ensure that quality is integrated into both processes and technology. Our Quality Analysts are not just testers; they are team motivators who inspire their peers to adopt a mindset focused on quality in their work.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively shift quality practices to align with senior client stakeholders.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to understand product requirements, devise a quality strategy, and empower teams for implementation.
- Identify and communicate risks associated with software delivery, assisting the leadership team in managing these risks.
- Conduct regular exploratory testing to uncover insights and potential risks.
- Champion improvements in clean coding practices, testing methodologies, and suggest effective test tools/frameworks.
- Define and execute a comprehensive testing approach across various products and services, including UAT and E2E testing.
- Standardize automation testing practices across teams, focusing on nomenclature, domain boundaries, contracts between services, and appropriate tooling.
- Adapt team strategies in response to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Mentor team members across various roles to foster a culture of quality software delivery and a testing mindset.
- Promote QA expertise within ThoughtWorks and the wider tech community, including speaking at conferences and mentoring junior QAs.
Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Experience as a Quality Analyst within a development team, collaborating closely with Developers, Business Analysts, Infrastructure Engineers, and Designers to foster a culture of quality and testing.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies, code management, deployment strategies, and release management.
- Proficient in practices such as TDD, BDD, CI/CD, as well as models like Test Pyramid and Swiss Cheese.
