The Legal and Compliance Officer will play a pivotal role in steering Cavista Holdings' compliance framework, ensuring that every business unit adheres to regulatory mandates, internal policies, and ethical standards. This position involves the design, implementation, and oversight of compliance policies, conducting thorough risk assessments, and advising senior management on compliance-related matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to all pertinent local, state, federal, and international regulations.
- Stay abreast of changes in laws and regulations, updating company policies as necessary.
- Foster and maintain professional relationships with regulatory agencies to remain informed on compliance issues.
- Develop, review, and revise compliance policies and procedures across all business units.
- Communicate policies effectively, ensuring implementation throughout the organization.
- Conduct regular compliance risk assessments across various business sectors.
- Identify compliance risks and collaborate with management on mitigation strategies.
- Monitor and report on compliance risks and the efficacy of mitigation measures.
- Create and deliver compliance training programs for employees across all levels.
- Foster a culture of compliance and ethical conduct within the organization.
- Establish compliance monitoring and auditing programs to ensure policy adherence.
- Investigate and resolve compliance-related issues, coordinating with external auditors as necessary.
- Compile regular compliance reports for senior management and the board.
- Report significant compliance concerns to the Chief Compliance Officer and propose corrective actions.
- Act as a confidential point of contact for ethical concerns and whistleblower issues.
- Ensure all employees have access to confidential reporting mechanisms for unethical behavior.
